For the purpose of exchanging the latest research results of marine mineral resources and geological environment, keeping up with the international academic research on marine geology and geophysics, and promoting the further development of marine geology in China, Marine Geological Subdivision, Geological Society of China, and Marine Geology Branch, Chinese Society of Oceanography decide to convene the fourth academic seminar on “Marine Geology, Mineral Resources and Environment” from November 24 to 26, 2008.
I. Main Topic
1、Investigation and research on marine geology and regional geology
2、Coastal geological environment and disaster
3、Gas hydrates research and investigation update, methods and results
4、The prospect of marine oil and gas resources
5、The formation and location of marine mineral resources
6、Marine geological and geophysical theory, method, technology and their development
Academicians and well-known experts will be invited to give Presentations on: marine geology and resources, marine Environment, gas hydrates, and marine geological theory.

4、Time of registration： November 24, 2008. Seminar attendants may take bus or taxi to register at No. 1 building of Dong Shan Hotel. Attendants please specify the meeting committee to pick them up at the airport if needed.
IV. Paper Submission
1、Deadline of Paper submission：Please mail back the attachment of this announcement before November 10, 2008. Paper should be submitted before November 15, 2008 (paper should be with an English abstract within 1 A4 paper, font Songti 5)，Paper can be sent to the organizing committee by email.
2、Publication of Papers: Before the seminar, abstracts of papers will be edited and published. After seminar, submitted papers will be published, and excellent papers will be published in the key journals of China.
V. Seminar Expense
Registration Fee 500/person（including all the activities）. Living and boarding will be arranged by the organizing committee, at each attendant's own expense。
